Summary
Rotavirus is one of the commonest causes of severe gastroenteritis in infants and young children. It causes a spectrum of responses that vary from subclinical infection to mild diarrhea to severe dehydrating illness. It poses a special threat to Immunosuppressed patients for Bone marrow transplantation and elederly patients. It is a common cause of nosocomial infections.
