Antibodies against myeloperoxidase showing a p-ANCA pattern indicates rapid progressive glomerulonephritis, microscopic polyangitis and other forms of vasculitis. In ulcerative colitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis and other disease p-ANCA are also found which do not react with MPO but are directed against other target antigens like (elastase, Cathepsin G, lysosyme, lactoferrin)
